A must try before we reach the festive season, this outstanding champagne might just make those drinks parties something to look forward to (and could just change them forever…)<\/p>\n

‘<\/em>V<\/strong>ery dry blend of 100% Chardonnay from the Larmandier’s vineyards south of Vertus (this is in fact an extra-brut), elegant and pure flavours, making for an interesting contrast to the Egly-Ouriet style. This is a breathtaking wine at this price. Now known as ‘Latitude’.’ L&S<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

‘L<\/strong>ight yellow. Fresh pear and peach aromas are deepened by floral honey and gentle minerality. Plush, honeyed orchard fruit flavors are impressively fine-grained and silky. ‘<\/strong>It is disgorged manually and dosed with only 5 grammes per litre of sugar – effectively making it an “Extra Brut” wine. The nose shows savoury aromas of brioche and ripe citrus fruits, with a hint of raspberry from the Pinot Noir. Larmandier-Bernier<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Pierre Larmandier is passionate about his vineyards, which are around fifty separate parcels, spread across the Cotes des Blancs in the grand cru villages of Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize, and the premier cru of Vertus. All but three of the parcels(representing 0.5 hectares) are farmed using non-officially certified biodynamic methods. Wines are made only from their own 15 hectares of vines, which are an average 33 years old. Working only with natural yeasts<\/strong> the influence of ‘terroir’ is all important to the style of his wines, so much so that he uses a minimum ‘dosage’ (if at all)<\/strong> so as not to mask the wines natural<\/p>\n
