The cuv\u00e9e (70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay) is a rich, full-bodied wine with evolved flavours this is immensely satisfying, while still fresh and beautifully balanced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2013 SANCERRE Chavignol Domaine Vincent Delaporte &#8211; 2 x 75cl bottles<\/strong><br \/>\nLoire France<\/p>\n<p>A full flavoured muscular wine from classic &#8216;silex&#8217; (silica) soils. A perfect balance of fruit and firm minerality. A\u00a0diversity of soils types, principally flint and limestone and a strict blending of wines from 28 plots of 30 year old + vines adds finesse, aromatic complexity and minerality to this wine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2011 POMMARD Tavannes Domaine Fernand &amp; Laurent Pillot &#8211; 2 x 75cl bottles<\/strong><br \/>\nBurgundy France<\/p>\n<p>Very immediate, very supple and round on attack, then the tannins fill out the finish. Very good and a value buy as usual.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2010 VIEUX CH\u00c2TEAU GACHET Lalande de Pomerol -2 x 75cl bottles\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nBordeaux France<\/p>\n<p>The Arpin family&#8217;s Lalande-de-Pomerol offers outstanding value. 70% Merlot, hand harvested, and aged in oak for a year. Deep, rich and seductive with plump cherry and dark fruit characters and the suave scent from the wood. The tannins are still firm but are more than balanced by the fruit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2008 TASSINAIA Castello del Terriccio &#8211; 2 x 75cl bottles<\/strong><br \/>\nTuscany Italy<\/p>\n<p>The 2008 Tassinaia is gorgeous. Dark red cherries, plums, spices, flowers and mint are all woven together beautifully in this sumptuous, yet medium-bodied wine. Everything is in the right place. I would not at all be surprised to see the 2008 improve quite a bit with further time in bottle. <strong>Antonio Galloni 93\/100<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2011 CH\u00c2TEAU MONTEILS Cru Bourgeois Sauternes &#8211; 1 x 75cl bottles<\/strong><br \/>\nBordeaux France<\/p>\n<p>Top quality Sauternes from this young winemaker and unusually good at this price level. Perhaps a little lighter in colour and weight than previous vintages but still amply rich and sweet with a creamy, waxy texture and a cut of acidity that keeps the whole beautifully streamlined.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SANDEMAN 20 Year Old Tawny\u00a0&#8211; 1 x 75cl bottles<\/strong><br \/>\nPort Portugal<\/p>\n<p>Recently tasted in a full line up of shipper&#8217;s twenty year old tawny ports, this stood out for its length, freshness and fabulous finish, as well as concentration and sweetness.
