Really very well mastered. Good balance without excess acidity or tannin. Very persistent.&#8217; <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Compared to available vintages this sits\u00a0fairly at this price, but is hard to recommend as a completely compelling primeur buy.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-19510\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Veronique-Sanders-HAUT-BAILLY-Blog.jpg\" alt=\"Veronique Sanders HAUT BAILLY Blog\" width=\"332\" height=\"221\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Veronique Saunders of\u00a0Ch\u00e2teau\u00a0Haut Bailly<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<p>Also out are the fabulous pair of wines made by the team at Domaines Henri Martin &#8211; <strong><a title=\"2014 CH\u00c2TEAU SAINT PIERRE 4\u00e8me Cru Class\u00e9 Saint Julien\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2014-CHATEAU-SAINT-PIERRE-4eme-Cru-Classe-Saint-Julien-21766-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\">Ch\u00e2teau Saint Pierre<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at<strong> \u00a3310\/12<\/strong> and <strong><a title=\"2014 CH\u00c2TEAU GLORIA Cru Bourgeois Saint Julien\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2014-CHATEAU-GLORIA-Cru-Bourgeois-Saint-Julien-Chateau-Gloria-21710-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\">Ch\u00e2teau Gloria<\/a>\u00a0\u00a3210\/12.\u00a0<\/strong>Tasting here was one of the moments of the week, we were blown away by the sheer panache and drive of these wines, at this level, just such a pleasure to taste.<\/p>\n<p>Both are recommended for drinkers, with space to tuck away in the cellar, but Gloria has to be the stand out value buy. St Pierre is more refined perhaps, a tad coy at this stage &#8211; but this is elegant and grown-up nonetheless.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-19503\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/St-Pierre-Blog.jpg\" alt=\"St Pierre\" width=\"311\" height=\"233\" \/><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">Ch\u00e2teau Saint Pierre<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<p>For Decanter Magazine, <strong>Steven Spurrier<\/strong> writes of St Pierre:<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8216;Lovely fruit with vibrant flavours and a well-structured finish. This ch\u00e2teau has gained in elegance and depth recently and its 2014 is all in balance for a good future. (Highly Recommended St-Julien.)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And it is hard not to give the last word on Gloria to <strong>James Suckling<\/strong> who notes:<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8216;This is the best Gloria in years with amazing dark blackberries, minerals, rose petals and spices. Full body, firm tannins and a very long finish.
