I was one of three who made up the \u2018Peaked too soon Team\u2019. Proudly sponsored by <span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Lea &amp;\u00a0Sandeman<\/strong><\/span>, we set off at 07.15 jogging the first 25 miles with relative ease.<a href=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/photo-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-20132 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/photo-2.jpg\" alt=\"photo 2\" width=\"436\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a> The second half of our journey was going to take a lot more effort. The weather closed in and the terrain around Glenshee got steeper. Our feet started to blister, ankles swell and knees ache and at 45 miles our jog had turned to a walk. At 50 miles we were almost crawling and certainly would have called it a day if it wasn\u2019t for two things:<\/p>\n<p>The wonderful charity we had raised so much money for \u2013 The ABF Soldiers Charity.<\/p>\n<p>And &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The thought of a cold bottle of <strong><a title=\"Benedick Champagne\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/BENEDICK-Grand-Reserve-Brut-5995-00.html?pack=2594&amp;term=bened&amp;page=\" target=\"_blank\">Benedick Champagne<\/a><\/strong> and three Montecristo Cigars waiting at the finishing line.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/BENEDICK-Grand-Reserve-Brut.240x700.13177.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20135\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/BENEDICK-Grand-Reserve-Brut.240x700.13177.png\" alt=\"BENEDICK-Grand-Reserve-Brut.240x700.13177\" width=\"426\" height=\"115\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Team \u2018Peaked too Soon\u2019 \u2013 made up of two land agents and one wine merchant \u2013 crossed the finish line at 23.35 on Saturday evening. We were the fourth team in \u2013 only beaten by groups made up of the military and ultra-marathon enthusiasts (!).
