St\u00e9phane has made his usual success of his two wines, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CLOS-MANOU-Medoc-23427-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Clos Manou<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-PETIT-MANOU-Medoc-23584-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Petit Manou<\/strong><\/a>. The Clos Manou has, unsurprisingly, the majority of the Cabernet, (69%) while the second wine is 88% Merlot. St\u00e9phane was blunt &#8211; <strong>&#8216;Here we do the same work as at P\u00e9trus. What we do is normal, but as others take shortcuts, we have become exceptional.&#8217;<\/strong> In case you had not guessed, St\u00e9phane is a perfectionist. Everything at Clos Manou is exactly in the right place &#8211; and this is a wine which just gets better and better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CLOS-MANOU-Medoc-23427-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24288\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Clos-Manou-hand-made-wine700.jpg\" alt=\"Clos Manou - hand-made wine700\" width=\"700\" height=\"569\" \/><\/a>The Clos Manou stood out in a group tasting for sheer &#8216;realness&#8217;, and was completely convincing tasted at the property. Buy with confidence, this is a proper &#8216;hand-made&#8217; wine from this altogether exceptional property.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_24287\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24287\" class=\"wp-image-24287 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/St\u00e9phane-and-Fran\u00e7oise-Dief700.jpg\" alt=\"St\u00e9phane and Fran\u00e7oise Dief\" width=\"700\" height=\"267\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-24287\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">St\u00e9phane and Fran\u00e7oise Dief at Clos Manou.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Other properties where we liked the wines released so far include <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-BEAUMONT-Haut-Medoc-23501-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\">Beaumont<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-SENEJAC-Cru-Bourgeois-Superieur-Haut-Medoc-23375-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\">S\u00e9n\u00e9jac<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-CHARMAIL-Cru-Bourgeois-Superieur-Haut-Medoc-23246-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\">Charmail<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-CAPBERN-Saint-Estephe-23310-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Capbern<\/strong><\/a> (made by the Calon-Segur team) and two lesser Margaux which offer good value in this excellent Margaux vintage &#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-ANGLUDET-Cru-Bourgeois-Superieur-Margaux-23312-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> Angludet<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-LABEGORCE-Cru-Bourgeois-Superieur-Margaux-23277-00.html?category=261\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Lab\u00e9gorce<\/strong><\/a>, both wines with fresh juicy appeal which should provide excellent drinking within four or five years, but also go on well for another five or six.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almost our last visit of primeurs week in Bordeaux was back to see St\u00e9phane Dief up in the northern M\u00e9doc at Saint Christoly.
