Available in cases of 12 bottles, or, with no surcharge, in cases of 24 half-bottles. This is a great opportunity to stash away some special treats.<\/p>\n<p>We have already quoted Neal Martin in our introduction to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/Sauternes-and-Barsac-125-02.html\" target=\"_blank\">the Sauternes section of our <em>en primeur<\/em> offer<\/a>, but here he is again:-<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;After almost ten years of writing about Sauternes for The Wine Advocate, I am resigned to the fact that the level of interest in these glorious wines is about the same as a vegan&#8217;s interest in the best steak restaurants. It does not matter how much I bang on about Sauternes being one of the greatest mellifluous elixirs in the world. Do people care about the long odds against Sauternes? The effort that goes into harvesting the grapes? The bewitching purity of the wines? How they represent some of the best values in Bordeaux and how they can age far better than their dry red counterparts? How you can open a bottle and it will stay fresh for a week in the fridge? And so on and so on. What&#8217;s the point? You are either inclined to buy Sauternes en primeur or not, and judging by the market, most of you are not.
