{"id":25222,"date":"2016-06-06T10:28:13","date_gmt":"2016-06-06T09:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/blog\/?p=25222"},"modified":"2016-06-06T15:51:28","modified_gmt":"2016-06-06T14:51:28","slug":"2015-bordeaux-chateau-pichon-longueville-baron-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/blog\/2016\/06\/2015-bordeaux-chateau-pichon-longueville-baron-3\/","title":{"rendered":"2015 Ch\u00e2teau Pichon, Baron, Clos Fourtet &#038; Pavie Maquin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week will almost certainly see the final wines released from the 2015 Bordeaux primeurs, so likely to be a busy one.<\/p>\n<p>Kicking off with one of the wines of the vintage\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-PICHON-LONGUEVILLE-BARON-2eme-Cru-Classe-Pauillac-23355-00.html?category=261\">2015\u00a0CH\u00c2TEAU PICHON LONGUEVILLE BARON<\/a> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/images\/favicon-Circular.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> <\/strong>at the fairly feisty price of \u00a3995 per case IB<em>. <\/em>This represents a discount of<em> about 10% against the 2009, and just over 20% against the 2010, but as Neal Martin says,<\/em> &#8220;If you want to know whether this 2015 is up there with the 2009 or 2010, the answer is unquestionably yes.&#8221; 96 &#8211; 98\/100 Neal Martin, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erobertparker.com\">www.erobertparker.com<\/a> <em>(Apr 2016). <\/em>First-Growth quality level here.<\/p>\n<p>Also out this morning is one of the most highly regarded Saint Emilions, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CLOS-FOURTET-1er-Grand-Cru-Classe-Saint-Emilion-23279-00.html?category=261\">2015\u00a0CLOS FOURTET<\/a><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/images\/favicon-Circular.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/>. This property has been on the up for several years and at \u00a3715 per case IB is well-priced compared to other recent top vintages. <em>&#8220;What a fabulous Saint Emilion from Mathieu Cuvelier and his team &#8211; Clos Fourtet with breeding and class.&#8221;<\/em> 95-97 Neal Martin.<\/p>\n<p>This afternoon we have <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-PAVIE-MACQUIN-Grand-Cru-Classe-Saint-Emilion-23328-00.html?category=261\">2015\u00a0CH\u00c2TEAU PAVIE MACQUIN<\/a><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/images\/favicon-Circular.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> at \u00a3560, 94-97 in the Wine Spectator. Another wine from the Nicolas Thienpont stable which produced one of the wines which has flown this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2015-CHATEAU-LARCIS-DUCASSE-Grand-Cru-Classe-Saint-Emilion-23372-00.html?category=261\">2015\u00a0CH\u00c2TEAU LARCIS DUCASSE<\/a> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/images\/favicon-Circular.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> (\u00a3480). We went to Pavie Macquin to taste all the Nicolas Thienpont wines, and absolutely loved the Larcis. Coming to Pavie Macquin after it, we liked it a lot, but were perhaps slightly less captivated than we had been by the Larcis.
