The warm year of 2009 has in general made generous, relatively rich Champagnes, but as none of the usual critics have tried the 2009 Cristal, this offer is based on the marque and the glowing tasting notefrom Roederer’s own Chef de Cave.<\/p>\n

As Roederer’s website has it, this was originally the Tsar’s wine “Our House\u2019s most famous wine was created in 1876 to satisfy the demanding tastes of Tsar Alexander II. The emperor asked Louis Roederer to reserve the House\u2019s best cuv\u00e9e for him every year. He was particularly fond of the House\u2019s wine. To distinguish this cuv\u00e9e, this exceptional champagne came in a flat-bottomed, transparent lead-crystal bottle. The new brand was named after this precious material, which is particularly transparent and luminous.”<\/p>\n
