GRAND PUY LACOSTE<\/a>\u00a0\"L&S\"\u00a0is out at \u00a3367 per 6 \/ \u00a3734 per 12 IB<\/strong>. In his glowing note for the 2016 Neal Martin paid tribute to this\u00a0‘bastion of quintessential Pauillac<\/em>‘. He says that, ‘not unlike its stylistic sibling\u00a0Montrose<\/em>,’ it is made in a style that he openly admits he ‘adores<\/em>‘. He singled out\u00a0oenologist, Christel Spinner, for special praise. She, he argues, has\u00a0‘made the wine more approachable without compromising its intrinsic style<\/em>.’ We couldn’t agree more.\u00a0The 2016 is more open and\u00a0approachable than many we have tasted here\u00a0en primeur <\/em>– it is still\u00a0rich, dense and spicy but there is now such\u00a0good juice and flow. It is,\u00a0quite simply, gorgeous.\u00a0The price has crept up above our estimate but given Neal Martin’s score (95-97\/100) that’s unsurprising.<\/p>\n
