We hesitate to use the word ‘icon’ in connection with wine ever since Jancis Robinson came up with the question ‘is that one word or two?’, but it is appropriate for some of the wines launched onto the market via the Bordeaux ‘place<\/em>‘ at this time of year.<\/p>\n

There are many other either being released to us in drips and drabs, or set to be released over the next week or two. You can see the timetable for the releases below, and the offer page listing the wines here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

All these important wines are distributed via the ‘place de Bordeaux<\/em>‘, rather than via regional distributors, even though only some of them have any obvious connection to Bordeaux, prompting us to label them ‘The Outsiders’<\/strong> a couple of years ago. Here we list them with their proposed release dates:<\/p>\n

Monday 4th September
