A showcase of our incredible Italian selection which grows every year, presented by the wonderful people who make the wines. This year 26 of our Italian friends made the journey to Charing Cross Road and the Top Floor of Foyles Book Shop. Making it our best event so far, full of joyous wines and big Italian characters. With more than 200 happy tasters joining us throughout the day to sample the 95 brilliant wines on show.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst the many fabulous bottles open on the day, we were delighted to unveil the first UK tasting of the new Brunello vintages from Fuligni, Giodo and Collemattoni \u2013 as well as the latest releases from our \u2018new signing\u2019 the fabulous GB Burlotto in Barolo. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-30119\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Italian-Tasting2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"304\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tasting covered a lot of ground, from the heel of Italy\u2019s boot in Puglia to the Alto Piedmont in the far north west \u2013 pin-balling north via Sicily, Campania, Tuscany, the Marche and Emilia Romagna to the Veneto and almost up to the Austrian border in the Alto Adige, with the pure, mountain wines of Manni Nossing. A true \u2018Giro d\u2019Italia\u2019 for wine-lovers.<\/p>\n<p>Many wines caught the attention of the razor-sharp journalists who came to taste on the day. With brilliant comments and glowing reviews \u2013 look out for more in print over the next few days!<\/p>\n<p>Already in the press Victoria Moore has mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/food-and-drink\/wine\/wines-alto-piemonte-making-comeback-ones-look\/\">The Telegraph<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> the fabulous wines of Christoph Kuenzli up in the high ground of Boca, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewinegang.com\">The Wine Gang<\/a> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">have published their praise for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/search.html?term=mofete\">Mofete Etna Rosso<\/a> and Piero Lanza\u2019s awesome <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/2016-CHIANTI-CLASSICO-Nuovo-Poggerino-30474-00.html?pack=35045&amp;term=nuovo&amp;page=0&amp;sortOption=2&amp;resultsPerPage=12\">Poggerino Chianti Classico Nuovo.<\/a>\u00a0Quick work Gang \u2013 thank you!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week we hosted our 4th annual pure Italian Tasting which has become one of the highlights of our year.
