That said, we still cannot resist shouting about just how outstanding it is.<\/p>\n<p>If you are, and have been, a loyal purchaser of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine-producer\/Champagne-Larmandier-Bernier-1099-04.html\">Larmandier-Berniers<\/a>\u2019 wines since we started working with them in 2006, then you will be aware that in recent years, the proverbial cat has escaped from the bag.<\/p>\n<p>They were once just the provision of those in the know, but with the ever-growing interest in product provenance, people are eschewing their brand labels and turning to wine like this \u2013 small production, made by masters of their craft, who farm their own vines.<\/p>\n<p>My word, are they masters of their craft. Larmandier are now famous for their ability to bottle Chardonnay. That sort of life-affirming Chardonnay, which makes you wonder why you bother with any other grape.<\/p>\n<p>Latitude is named for its generosity and breadth. Whilst you still have the citrus, mineral and chalk of the C\u00f4te des Blancs, they have also imbued this Champagne with flavours that are so seductive.<\/p>\n<p>Lemon cheesecake, acacia honey, warm buttered bread.<\/p>\n<p>It is spring blossom and summer decadence, translated into the glass.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px; line-height: 24px; text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div style=\"border: 1px solid lightgrey; height: 1px; max-width: 150px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-36000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/LARMANDIER-BERNIER-Latitude-Extra-Brut-NV-1-1.png\" alt=\"LARMANDIER-BERNIER 'Latitude' Extra Brut NV\" width=\"160\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/LARMANDIER-BERNIER-Latitude-Extra-Brut-NV-1-1.png?format=webp&amp;quality=95&amp;bg=ffffff 187w, https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/LARMANDIER-BERNIER-Latitude-Extra-Brut-NV-1-1-80x300.png?format=webp&amp;quality=95&amp;bg=ffffff 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/>LARMANDIER-BERNIER &#8216;Latitude&#8217; Extra Brut<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">France, Champagne<br \/>\nChardonnay | 12.5%<br \/>\nLow-dosage, Bio-dynamic, Practising Organic<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;100% Chardonnay which all come from the same latitude, south of Vertus. Grapes picked as ripe as possible. Pressed, lightly clarified and then into wooden vats and casks. Spontaneous fermentation and natural malo. Aged on lees for the first year without fining or filtering. 40% of this wine comes from the estate&#8217;s perpetual reserve started in 2004. Sur lattes for at least two years. Each bottle is disgorged by hand. Smells like lemon cheesecake. There is a seductive cultured-sour-cream richness made piquant by citron fragrance and the piercing, bitter-lifted-oil-perfume of pomelo.
