Our OPENING offer of Champagne BOLLINGER 2002 and 2002 Champagne\u00a0LAURENT PERRIER presents a wonderful opportunity to put away two great wines from a great champagne vintage,\u00a0for drinking in the future with a few more years bottle age. Bollinger is as full-bodied and complex as one would expect from this famous house, while the Laurent-Perrier is fresh and elegant, and certainly\u00a0not to be sniffed at, at half the price. Both wines have tremendous ageing potential.<\/p>\n

BOLLINGER 2002<\/strong> is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, from 71% Grands Crus and 29% Premiers Crus vineyards. The first fermentaion is in small oak casks, and the second in bottle under natural cork. Aged a minimum of five years before riddling and disgorgement.<\/p>\n

Extremely promising combination of the completeness and potential of the 2002 champagne vintage and Bollinger’s distinctive mushroomy perfume, full Pinot-dominated palate and dry finish. This should make great old bones and, thanks to 2002’s power, is already much more approachable than many previous young vintage Bollingers. Notes of putty and, oddly, roast chicken(!). LAURENT PERRIER 2002<\/strong> is a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir.\u00a0 Chardonnay is from the Premiers Crus of the Cote de Blancs, and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims.\u00a0Aged eight years before disgorgement.<\/p>\n

A distinctive golden yellow hue with green highlights and a fruity character, revealing the wine’s maturity, the aroma evolves into notes of ripe fruits, and acacia honey. The Vintage 2002 beautifully captures Laurent-Perrier’s House style of lightness, freshness and elegance imparted by the chardonnays of C\u00f4te des Blancs Grand Crus and pinot noirs of Montagne de Reims.<\/em><\/p>\n
