{"id":50,"date":"2011-01-26T11:06:00","date_gmt":"2011-01-26T11:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=50"},"modified":"2013-02-12T12:43:39","modified_gmt":"2013-02-12T12:43:39","slug":"new-year-resolutions-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/blog\/2011\/01\/new-year-resolutions-part-two\/","title":{"rendered":"NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS: Part Two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having recently tasted our way through the majority of the wines we are offering from the fabulous <strong>2009 vintage<\/strong>, I am totally resolved to drinking more Burgundy this year!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many wine writers have rated the vintage as one of the best ever, while others say it is not quite as good as the 2005 (but that vintage\u00a0has long since sold out),\u00a0and whatever you read, the simple\u00a0fact is that there are exciting wines to drink at every level, not just the top end. Many of the simple village wines offer as much immediate enjoyment as do the very popular New World Pinot Noirs that we are selling so successfully today, but with\u00a0the additional\u00a0dimension of having true Burgundian characteristics or &#8216;terroir&#8217;, something which cannot be replicated elsewhere it would seem. Nicolas Rossignol, something of a super star winemaker in Volnay, has produced a stunningly attractive simple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/14381\/18011\/2009+BOURGOGNE+Pinot+Noir+Domaine+Nicolas+Rossignol.html?term=bourg+rossig&amp;page=\"><strong>Bourgogne Rouge<\/strong><\/a>, packed with dense, velvety Pinot fruit, which can be drunk immediately or cellared for a year or two. Something of a bargain. And if I were to choose\u00a0today just\u00a0one white, from the plethora of great white Burgundy on our list, it would undoubtedly be Paul Jaquesson&#8217;s<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/wine\/14298\/17920\/2009+RULLY+1er+Cru+La+Pucelle+Domaine+Paul+et+Marie+Jacqueson.html?term=pucelle&amp;page=\"><strong>Rully Premier Cru Pucelle,<\/strong><\/a> which with its delightful strain of sweet fruit and mineral intensity completely wowed a room full of tasters.<\/p>\n<p>The purity of fruit,\u00a0fresh expression and relatively light alcohol levels of these wines\u00a0make them an important part of\u00a0my New Year &#8216;stay healthy&#8217; regime!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2009
