International Wine Challenge (IWC) Merchant Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Strictly Come Wine Tasting?<\/em><\/p>\n

On the 18th of July, at the 30th anniversary of the IWC awards, Lea & Sandeman was awarded ‘En Primeur Merchant of the Year’<\/span><\/strong>,<\/p>\n

All the L&S\u00a0team are\u00a0absolutely delighted to have been given this award by such a high-calibre panel, (Tim Atkin\u00a0MW, Oz Clarke, Sam Harrop MW, Peter\u00a0McCombie MW, Charles Metcalfe and Derek Smedley MW)\u00a0and judged against such formidable competition. By all accounts the judges liked the way we have given advice and held strong opinions, on both Burgundy and Bordeaux.<\/p>\n

We were awarded a\u00a0(the only)\u00a0Highly Commended<\/strong> in the hotly-contested category of London Merchant of the Year<\/strong>, which we have won for the last four years, so it is perhaps someone else’s turn. We will be back!<\/p>\n

In addition to these two awards, we were in a short-list of only three for ‘Large Independent Merchant of the Year’<\/strong>, a category we only just squeak into as it is for merchants countrywide with 4-14 outlets. This is a great accolade for all the work put in by all the team in all 4 of\u00a0our shops.<\/p>\n

We were also short-listed<\/strong> for the specialist categories<\/em> of Champagne and Sparkling Merchant of the Year<\/strong>, and for Burgundy Merchant of the Year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
