BWC - Catherine Marshall


Catherine Marshall graduated from Elsenburg College, Stellenbosch in 1991. In between apprenticeships at Blaauwklippen, Delaire and Vergelegen she gained overseas experience in France (Burgundy and St Emilion), USA (California and Oregon) and Australia. Resident winemaking positions followed at Meinert Winery, Amani and Ridgeback Wines. The Barefoot Wine Company was born out of a fun-filled Friday night foot crush and beach party in Muizenberg in 1996. Since then, the three-barrel event has grown into a well-established independent producer of South African wines. All Catherine Marshall Wines are produced from grapes selected by Catherine with the cooperation of supporting growers.
