Quinta da Eira Velha was at this point owned by the Newman family of Newfoundland, who owned it for 200 years until they sold to the Taylor Fladgate Partnership in 2007. The grapes has at various stages been sold to Cockburn, but the 1995 was made by Martinez. It's a good site, the produce is now sold as a super-premium vintage port by Taylor, and this 1995 is drinking well, fully mature, not massively heavy but offers excellent value. L&S (Feb 2019)

Typical top '95. Impressive harmony, with plenty of everything in the right proportion. Full-bodied, medium sweet, with plum, grapey aromas and flavors and a long silky, fruity finish. Best after 2006. Drinking range: 2006 - Rating: 90 James Suckling, The Wine Spectator (Apr 1998)
