Round, opulent, sexy, full and sweet. Easy and supple, stuffed with ripe blackberry - like a supercharged Gevrey? Lots of volume and easy to taste, Yves remarks that this is 'on the defensive' at the moment - its hard to imagine, given how easy it is to taste, what it can be like when its on the attack. L&S (Jan 2007)

Bright, dark crimson. Scented, focused, very gorgeous and well balanced. Dangerously approachable now! Really good and no slacking just because it's "only" Echezeaux. 2012 - 25 Rating: 18+ Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com(Jan 2007)

Les Treux on the boarder of Clos de Vougeot, Echezeaux and Grand Echezeaux Zesty, spicy and exotic with masses of blackberry fruit, deep and densely fruity. It is chewy, mineral, lively, knitted and layered with an exotic fruity finish. It is a respectable finish. This wine is very appealing, if not as structured as the best wines this cru has delivered this year. Fine. From 2013 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing(Jan 2007)

Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
