A sublime sweet wine in that it is richly textured, packed with sweet citrus and tropical fruit, and all offset by a wonderful balance of acidity. As close to being as perfect as a sweet wine can ever be (think Yquem...). L&S (Jan 2010)

Honeyed niffs, unctuous, rich palate - think toffee, mouthwatering citrus and match its unfathomable glory with a plum pudding to skate the highroad to heaven. The blend is Chardonnay, Weisburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and the balance of sweetness to acidity is near perfect. This is a wine to sip with someone you love. Nittnaus
Hans Nittnaus was introduced to us by Bert Salomon, and we love his red wines. No attempt here to make international wines from foreign grape varieties, which is not what we were looking for from Austria. These are indigenous wines reflecting the 'terroir' of the region. He is undoubtedly a supremely fine red wine maker, and is now following biodynamic practices which will lead to official certification from the 2007 vintage.
