Made from Malvasia del Chianti, Trebbiano Toscano and Sangiovese. This Vin Santo is made by the traditional process of drying the grapes on trellises until the January following the harvest; followed by pressing and must fermentation in small oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 4 years in traditional oak barrels, followed by 5 months in the bottle. Amber yellow in colour, this wine is intense, ethereal and fragrant to the nose, with hints of almonds. Nicely sweet with the full flavour of raisins, it is an ideal dessert wine, and excellent with dry pastries.Winemaker's notes

A relatively large estate by Chianti standards, covering over 800 hectares of which 83 are under vine, located right in the heart of the classico district. Part of an investment portfolio the estate is run with little expense spared in the pursuit of making a truly representative wine of the region. This investment extends to the employment of Carlo Ferrini as oenologist, whose rather more deft touch these days, ensures that the true character of the region and the grape speaks through the wine.
