Always very much a fruit led Rioja with crisp flavours and soft hints of oak which never dominate. Bodegas Ruconia
We discovered this small, modern, winery in the heart of Rioja Alta about fifteen years ago and we continue to be struck by the exceptional quality of the fruit and the wine-making here. Bodegas Ruconia was founded in 1986 and have nearly 20 HA of vineyards around the villages of Cenicero and Urunuela, they first came onto our radar in the early 2000's, just after their new state of the art winery was built in 2001. The family have always combined very high quality wine, with extraordinarily attractive pricing, the perfect marriage! These have become a firm favourite and some of our best selling red wines from Spain, year after year.
