A nose of everything but obvious fruit. Floral, mineral, earthy, a heavenly entry which is both dry of flavour and sweet-textured. Explosive spice and mineral. Brilliant! L&S (Mar 2017)

Moderately saturated ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of jammy berry liqueur and chocolatey roasted oak. Fat, sweet, and stuffed with concentrated black fruits but a bit heavy for Chambolle. An extremely elegant nose of lacy and airy high-toned red berry fruit leads to delicate but focused and minerally medium-bodied flavors that are very Chambolle in character on the mid-palate though the lingering finish is quite firm as there is a touch of stems in evidence. 2017+ Rating: 89-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com

The Chambolle has a sweet, much more feminine nose than Confuron-Contetidot’s other 2009s, with a Vosne-like panache. The palate is more tannic than expected on the entry, chewy with good grip and a touch of white pepper, stern backbone with a dense, raspberry and red cherry finish. Fine. Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot
Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
