Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Vinified separately, 80% in a combination of French and American new oak barriques and the remainder unoaked. Very fine, with crisp fresh fruit, lovely texture and a long palate. Top notch. L&S (Nov 2012)

In 1999, Jean Engelbrecht and the South African golfer Ernie Els cemented a long-standing friendship by establishing Engelbrecht Els Vineyards, and in December 2004 opened their dream cellar on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. The winemaker since the very beginning has been the very talented Louis Strydom.
