By the limit of Latricières. Thibault wanted to keep some stalk, but not the main stem which was too green, so the grapes were cut off the central spine of the bunches with scissors. Purply rich and full, with density as well as depth. Cassis with mineral. Powerful and long and really not just 'charming'. Really feels like part of this cellar now. L&S (Nov 2012)

The 2011 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Thibault Liger-Belair has a straightforward, quite fresh and direct bouquet with orange blossom filtering through the blue and black fruit. There is a sense of composure that develops in the glass. The palate is energetic on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, quite confit-like towards the finish. The stem addition here is nicely integrated with a palpable spicy end that finishes things off nicely. Drinking range: 2020 - 2038 Rating: 92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (May 2019)

Good bright, deep red. Explosive aromas and flavors of black raspberry, licorice, leather and game; this hits most of the main Gevrey food groups. Sweet, fine-grained and concentrated; dense with extract. Finishes very long and ripely tannic, with a noble rusticity. Liger-Belair began working these vines in 2008; he cut off the best 20% of his clusters with scissors, noting that he did more of a whole-berry fermentation than an actual vinification with stems. And the barrels he used for this cuvee were "barely toasted." Rating: 91-93 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Feb 2013)

Rating: 17.5++ Matthew Jukes www.matthewjukes.com (Jan 2013)

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
