Sweetness of fruit jumps out of the glass. Gloss and polished suppleness - but just stays within bounds of good ripeness and is not over-done. This is good in a rich full-on style. L&S (Apr 2013)

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot and 27% Merlot, picked from 1 until 18 October, the du Tertre has a light redcurrant and dark cherry bouquet that is fresh but perhaps missing the complexity of recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, citric opening, edgy tannins and a slightly enervated finish. This will hopefully flesh out a little more during barrel maturation, but I suspect this will be for early drinking only. Rating: 85-87 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (May 2013)
Owned by the proprietors of Giscours, the 2012 Du Tertre is marginally richer and more textured than that cuvee. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color as well as notes of licorice, charcoal, red and black currants, forest floor and background oak.
