2012 Réserve Château des Tours

Grapes Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre
Colour Red
Origin France, Rhône
District Southern Rhône
Sub-district Côtes du Rhône
ABV 14%

Another sublime release from Emmanuel Reynaud, the 2012 is a blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 15% Cinsault. Always a very fragrant, finessed style, this vintage carries a bit more weight and extract. Damsons, wild strawberries and raspberries, wrapped by fragrant herbs, earth and a touch of liquorice. The palate is ample and rich, nice balancing acidity and silky tannic grip, with a core of rich red fruits and wild herbs. Really very fine. Drinking range: 2016 - 2023 L&S (Jun 2016)

Château des Tours

Emmanuel Reynaud is the fourth generation of wine growers and took over from his father at Château des Tours in 1997 and also at the famous Chateau Rayas after the death of his uncle Jacques Reynaud. His wines are based upon very old Grenache vines, giving wines of little colour but great intensity of aroma and flavour.
