2013 Rouge Goujonne Domaine Hubert Lamy
|Sub-district||Côte de Beaune|
(from a 1.06 ha parcel planted in 1950). This too is quite earthy with the same dark cherry aromas though here there is a bit more breadth in the form of pepper and sauvage nuances. There is good volume to the punchy medium-bodied flavors that possess solid depth and slightly better length. 2020+ Rating: 87-90 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Apr 2015)
*Case Price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified to get the 'case price' for each bottle.
Rating: 91 Tim Atkin MW, www.timatkin.com (Jan 2015)
From 65-year-old vines, the 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge La Goujonne has brambly dark berries on the nose mixed with briary and forest floor scents. The palate is fresh and vibrant with tart red cherries that belie those rigid tannins underneath, suggesting that it will need a year or two in bottle. Drinking range: 2016 - 2021 Rating: 87-89 Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com (Dec 2014)
Domaine Hubert Lamy
Olivier Lamy, has built on the solid foundations his father Hubert prepared with twenty years and more of work in the vineyards. Today the Domaine has 18.5 hectares of vines - 80% are Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. The vines are in several appellations - Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. The reputation of the domaine is now made, but the Saint Aubins, both red and white remain some of the bargains of Côte d'Or, and challenge the supposed superiority of the grander villages on a regular basis, both in terms of young and mature wines.
