2015 Chardonnay Coddington
|Origin||New Zealand, North Island|
Peach fruit aromas are at their seductive best here. The warmth of sweetly spicy and toasty oak adds plenty of interest, too. Masses of fleshy, palate-soaking presence in the mouth, while acid zips around below like an underground rail network, unseen and yet essential to everything working. The phenolics are spot on. Lemon cream finish. Drink now. Rating: 94 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (Nov 2017)
*Case Price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified to get the 'case price' for each bottle.
Actually quite savoury on the nose. Then broad and almost rich. Still quite tight and minerally. Maybe not the densest. Dry finish. Drinking range: 2019 - 2025 Rating: 17/20 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Feb 2017)
From the pioneering days to the establishment of the New Zealand wine industry to today, the Brajkovich family have been internationally recognised as producing world class wine. The Brajkovich family continue to harvest their grapes at Kumeu and refine their wine making skills.
The Brajkovichs are nationally recognised as a founding family of the New Zealand wine industry, and the current generation are internationally recognised as producing world class Chardonnay.
Just as the Brajkovich family has grown, so too has the winery itself. Extensions and additions mark the milestones that have seen business adapt and expand over the years. Today, the winery produces around 250,000 bottles annually from 30 hectares of its own vineyards in Kumeu, and another 10 hectares from local growers.
