36-year-old vines on south-west-facing slopes, flint and Kimmeridgian limestone. TA 4.46 g/l. A late vintage, harvested from 28 September to 14 October with several passages. Intense boxwood on the nose, almost peppery. Super-dry and herbal on the palate – so crunchy and wholesome that it tastes like a freekeh salad. Long and tangy with light lemon lines pulling finely along the length of the wine. (TC) Drinking range: 2017 - 2020 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Mar 2018)

Founded in 1396, Chateau de Tracy has been in the hands of Comte Henri d'Assay's family for 610 years, which is something of an achievement in itself. Located in the village of Tracy sur Loire the estate covers thirty two hectares under production, on flint and kimmeridgian limestone south west facing slopes overlooking the Loire. With an average age of twenty four years the vines produce significantly lower yields than is the norm in the appellation, making for wines of great intensity, complexity and finesse.
