The 2016 Crozes Hermitage Lhony spent 18 months in new and once-used demi-muids. It offers a ripe, rounded, ready-to-go style as well as plenty of spiced red and black fruits, earth, and peppery aromas and flavors. With medium to full body, a layered texture, and building tannins that might just outlive the fruit, drink it over the coming 4-6 years. Drinking range: 2019 - 2025 Rating: 88 Jeb Dunnuck, www.jebdunnuck.com(Dec 2018)

Domaine Gaylord Machon: Full Wine List and Profile
Domaine Gaylord Machon is in Beaumont-Monteux, in the heart of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, on 'les châssis' a name which derives from the numerous large stones found in this area, which make for a particularly free-draining soil. 5% of the domaine is Marsanne and Roussanne, from which a tiny amount of white is made, the rest being all Syrah for the two cuvées of red.
All the work in the vines is manual, including the harvest. Gaylord took over 5 hectares of family vines in 2002, the produce of which he took to the co-op, like his forbears, until 2008, when he began to sell the grapes of what was then an enlarged 8.5 hectares to Paul Jaboulet Ainé. In 2011 he made his first wine. He is a qualified winemaker, and had trained with Luc Tardy and Laurent Combier, among others.
Gaylord built his own vinification cellar in 2014, and today vinifies about half his red production and all the white.

RHÔNE PRIMEUR FAQ
WHY ORDER PRIMEUR OR PRE-SHIPMENT? Ordering your wine before it is shipped from the producer means you secure the best possible price before the wines become available in the UK market. It is also the best way to avoid disappointment as some wines will sell out before arrival in the UK.
PRICES: This is a primeur/pre-shipment offer - all prices are quoted IN BOND ex-VAT. The prices are per pack as detailed - so if a wine is listed in twelve-bottle cases, the price given is per twelve, or if listed in six-bottle cases, the price given is per six, and so on. If it looks too cheap (and even if it does not), please check the case size.
DELIVERY COSTS: The In Bond prices are for in bond delivery. Under bond delivery to an L&S Elephant storage account at Octavian Corsham is free, but under bond delivery to other bonds or accounts will incur additional charges. Duty-paid delivery is included subject to our normal terms. In the case of wines required duty-paid, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rates will be charged prior to delivery.
L&S STORAGE: We will deliver your wines to your L&S ('Elephant Storage') In Bond storage account unless otherwise specified. You can find more details on Elephant Storage storage here or contact our Private Client team for more information. Do however proceed with your order first in order to secure your allocation, your storage account can be arranged later.
PAYMENT: Orders will be invoiced for payment by cheque, cash, debit card or cleared funds to our account. We regret that we are unable to accept credit cards for primeur sales.
DELIVERY TIMING: The wines are not yet physically available, but will be shipped over the course of the next few months. In most cases they will be delivered to you as they arrive with us, so if any are required by a certain date please advise us at the time of ordering.
