CHABLIS

2017 Domaine Solange Tribut

EN PRIMEUR

This had just been bottled and yet is still hugely expressive. Compared to the Laurent Tribut Chablis there is more breadth and sleekness here. The fruit is riper, more apple and pear which leads seamlessly to a good saline finish with oyster shell and nice pithy lemon. The fruit all comes from a specific parcel that she bought near Beauroy, very steep but just round the corner from the 1er Cru site.L&S (Oct 2018)

Notes of white orchard fruit confit, sea breeze and a hint of quinine serve as a pretty introduction to the impressively rich, indeed even lavish, medium-bodied flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel along with very fine depth and persistence on the saline-imbued finale. Good stuff for its level and worth checking out. 2021+ Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Oct 2018)

The 2017 Chablis from Solange Tribut is very promising, wafting from the glass with expressive aromas of white flowers, lemon oil, almond paste and subtle struck match. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and glossy, with a lovely core of ripe fruit underpinned by tangy acids, concluding with a long finish. It's an excellent Chablis AOC in the making and should be well worth seeking out in bottle. Rating: 90-92 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Aug 2018)

The 2017 Chablis, which comes from vines located towards Beauroy and made under Laurent Tribut's daughter's name, has a very pure and charming bouquet with light yellow flower and orange blossom scents. The palate is well balanced, light on its toes, fresh with a light saline influence towards the finish. If this indicates the quality of the wines following Laurent's retirement, then everything bodes well. Drinking range: 2019 - 2024 Rating: 88-90 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Aug 2018)

Solange Tribut is the daughter of Laurent Tribut, whose excellent Chablis we have sold successfully for years, and the niece of the highly regarded Vincent Dauvissat. The family tradition for expressive yet pure Chablis is safe in her hands. Her wines are very classically shaped. Light on their toes - pithy with lovely citrus highs and great clean lines. Super value wines with great heritage.
