CHESTNUT HILL

2017 Pinot Noir Jayden Ong

Grapes Pinot Noir
Colour Red
Origin Australia, Victoria
District Mount Burnett

Fresh ripe Pinot nose with some richness, and the palate has weight and a caressing silk feel. The finish is warmly ripe, staying taut (15% whole bunch fermentation). Really excellent Pinot. L&S (Nov 2018)

Jayden Ong

Jayden Ong started making wine at his 'One Block' winery in 2010. There is another label for others which are not strictly 'one block' - 'La Maison de Ong'.

In 2015 Jayden and his wife Morgan bought a plot of land and started the Jayden Ong label for wines from their home-grown fruit. As he puts it, "Jayden Ong wines are the wines we grow (100% control on all farming, dry grown, high altitude, organic at a minimum), make & bottle and come from Chestnut Hill (300m asl) and our home vineyard Forest Garden (700m asl)". This is early days for this vineyard, but the first efforts look extremely promising.
