This was bottled in June 2018. The grapes for the 'Estate' wine are all hand-picked and come from vines planted between 1990 and 2000. The family have 6 vineyard plots that make up the 'Estate' wine. This is then aged in classic French barrels - 20% of which are new. Even in a more tricky vintage the class here is evident. The 2017 is as clean as a whistle; lovely, pure lemon juice whistles through the middle adorned by some dried green herbs and a soft steeliness. Some weight builds, warm butter and a lick of almond. Delicately seasoned this is a really brilliant wine at this level. L&S (Oct 2018)

The trademark hint of reduction, with subtle nuttiness and golden-apple fruit. A ripe and rich mouth-filling style is complemented by excellent freshness and a saline touch. So alive and fresh and really good value for money. Drinking range: 2019 - 2027 Rating: 16.5 Alistair Cooper MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Dec 2019)

The 2017 Estate Chardonnay has a fresh, well-defined bouquet of citrus fruit complemented by subtle scents of brioche and almond. The palate is taut and crisp on the entry with a twist of sour lemon. Very saline in the mouth, not powerful but full of tension. The aforementioned saline tang lingers on the aftertaste. Superb - one of the best Estate releases in recent years. Drinking range: 2020 - 2037 Rating: 92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Feb 2019)
