Highest bit below Le Chambertin. Just next to Rousseau's parcel. This is gorgeous. Very sleek, very charming. Satisfying and quite richly fruited. Concentrated and quite ripe - but a good sensitive line of minerality gets involved and adds some class and energy. Red fruit, well-defined on the attack, begins to fill out, the sweetness builds in the mouth. But the gentle power is there, looming benevolently. L&S (Nov 2019)

(from a 1.5 ha parcel in Charmes proper). There is plenty of sauvage character to the liqueur-like aromas features notes of red and dark currant along with pretty floral nuances. The attractively vibrant and delineated middle weight flavors possess a refined if less concentrated mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the mildly rustic and sneaky long finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. Drinking range: 2033 - Rating: 91-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com(Jan 2020)

Cask sample. Low-key, quite precise nose without a massively bigger impact than the Richemone or Riotte. Neat and a little dry on the end at the moment. Drinking range: 2028 - 2045 Rating: 17++ Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com(Jan 2020)

The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a surprisingly reserved bouquet for this vineyard, featuring tightly coiled, slightly earthy dark fruit laced with subtle brine-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, gentle and slight in frame, perhaps needing to develop more matière and length on the finis, which tapers in a little. Drinking range: 2022 - 2036 Rating: 91-93 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com(Jan 2020)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” Visit Website
