80% Merlot with the balance being made up of Cabernet Franc. Similarly refined like Roc de Cambes but more damson, loganberry and fragrant blueberry. Structurally very together and harmonious. Lovely wine and as it was the last of the wines tasted that day, easily swallowed. L&S (May 2021)

The 2020 Domaine de Cambes is a gorgeous, luxuriously deep wine done in Francois Mitjavile's gently oxidative, concentrated style. Sumptuous black cherry, plum, chocolate, espresso and licorice all meld together. Pliant and supple, with generous fruit, Domaine de Cambes is so expressive today. Like many 2020s, it is a bit tight, but that should not be an issue in another few years' time. The purity of the flavors is compelling. The 2020 Domaine des Cambes has a perfumed and curiously quite Burgundian bouquet, very pure with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit. Pretty. The palate reverts back to its regional origin, grainy tannins, quite gourmand in style with savory, cereal-tinged finish. Easy and open, enjoy this over the next 12 years or so. Sporting a deep garnet-purple color, the 2020 Domaine de Cambes rolls out of the glass with exuberant notes of plum preserves, Black Forest cake and boysenberries, plus hints of star anise, cedar chest, camphor and smoked meats. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black and blue fruit preserves, framed by chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy.
