A surprising number of good Provence rosés have an Englishman behind them and this is one of those wines. I say surprising, but wouldn’t you decamp to the Var, given half a chance? I think I might. The Hubbard family bought this estate back in 1999: 70 glorious hectares of oak forests, pastureland and vineyards, set just to the north of the village of Flassans-sur-Isole. The wine is immaculate. It has a faint onion-skin colour, a delicate, herbal taste and subtle watermelon and citrus notes woven through it. Victoria Moore, The Daily Telegraph (May 2021)
