Elegant and seductive in its way, a very fine pink champagne. L&S (Aug 2017)

Founded by Nicolas-Francois Billecart in 1818, and situated in the village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, this remains one of the few family owned businesses in Champagne. In fact, the family has 100% control of production. They obtain their grapes from an area covering 220 hectares, the majority of which come from in and around the region of Épernay, and own a total of 15 hectares themselves. Today the estate is run by François and Antoine Roland-Billecart, the 6th generation of the family to lead the independent House, still with the support of their father Jean Roland-Billecart.
An subtle nose with plenty of fine autolysis aromas of fresh bread and sweetly fragrant yeasty notes, plus some gentle spice and chalky notes. The palate unleashes beautiful wild strawberry fruit flavors, super fresh, fleshy and pure. Great balance and depth. Rating: 94 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (Jul 2015)
The NV Brut Rosé is beautifully balanced in its layers of perfumed red fruit, berries and flowers. Clean, mineral notes frame a silky, sensual finish. Billecart-Salmon's NV Brut Rosé is one of the most consistently delicious rosés readers are likely to fine. Rating: 90 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com
There are very few aperitif wines that get my pulse racing as much as a glass of Billy Rosé. My mood lifts in a nanosecond and all the stresses and strains of everyday life melt away....There is no law against dreaming and Billecart Rosé is one of the dreamiest, most seductive wines in the world. Pink bubbles - how delightfully decadent is that? And it doesn't come more delightfully decadent and pink and fizzy than Rosé Champagne. Some of Champagne's most interesting wines are those made by the smaller 'grower' producers. Witness the Pinot heavy wines of Barnaut in Bouzy and the iconic Egly-Ouriet in Ambonnay, and the mostly Chardonnay R&L Legras from Chouilly. And for sheer 'wow' appeal, there is the extraordinary 100% Pinot Noir rosé de saignée from Larmandier-Bernier at Vertus. Of the more famous names, there is a deserved cult following for Billecart-Salmon Rosé - drier than its rivals with a freshness to the fruit that is delightful. And for luxury, there is the 2009 Vintage Louis Roederer Rosé Champagne - a small amount of wood ageing and longer time on the lees for a touch more complexity and ageing ability.
