Tio Pepe 'En Rama' is Fino in its purest form - unfiltered, un-clarified and drawn from the middle of the cask just a few weeks ago. Then shipped as quickly as possible to our cellars in the UK, for drinking as fresh as you can. You know summer is nearly here when En Rama touches down!
The colour this year seems darker and this impression follows to the palate where there is such great intensity of flavour. Fresh bread and briny olive notes dominate the attack and then a fresher deep citrus edge builds lifting and driving this complex beauty onwards. Powerfully aromatic with a distinctive 'flor' (yeasty) character, intriguing savoury flavours are quite heady, there is a salty line too that runs throughout to the clean lemony finish. Drink this chilled from a wine glass with salted almonds, shellfish, grilled fish or for a fantastic treat a plate of 'pata negra' ham. L&S (May 2021)

Aficionados often get excited by “en rama”, or “raw” sherries, which are bottled unfiltered straight from the cask. In 1835, a young man called Manuel María González Angel arrived in Jerez, intent on making a name for himself in the thriving and lucrative sherry business. Encouraged by the consistent growth in exports, that same year he purchased a small winery and began to produce and export his own wines. This was the start of Bodegas Tío Pepe which, due to the firm’s increasing success, became the González Byass company soon afterwards. Today, Bodegas Tío Pepe is known around the world as one of the leading producers of sherry and Brandy de Jerez.
