2019 & 2020 Italian Releases

We have here a duo of the finest Italian vintages to ever grace our stock sheet.

2019 in both Barolo and Brunello was outstanding, as the vintage was across Europe. 2020 in both Tuscany and Barbaresco, continues this theme.

The 2020s from Barbaresco are earth-shattering. We’ve seen sky-high scores across the board for these wines, notably Sottimano, who have quietly been making some of the finest wine in the region, who were the highest scored on Vinous, equalled only by Gaja’s single vineyards.

Brunello ’19 is a tremendous vintage -  near-perfect vineyard conditions producing a year that can certainly rival 2016 in longevity, but won’t punish impatience should you want to drink sooner.

2019 in Barolo has been widely labelled a ‘classic’ vintage. Weather conditions have meant smaller quantities than usual, but high quality and, considering both of these factors, astonishing value. It feels almost ironic that The King of Wines represents some of the best value in our collection this year. Take, for example, Barale’s Barolo Castellero. Only 3,700 bottles were made from this single Cru, it scored 95points from Vinous and is just £185/6 IB.

These wines are always tightly allocated, but please do register your interest and we will try and accommodate as best we can.
