A bit confused on the nose, but palate is a super Corton, fat and realy quite opulent, undergrowth and red forest fruit. "very supple, very different to the Renardes", says Thibault. L&S (Jan 2008)

Good medium red. High-toned aromas of cherry, dark raspberry and flowers; not a gamey style of Corton. Sweet, pliant and clean; fat with spicy fruit. No hard edges here. Finishes juicy, spicy and long. One of three barrels was new. (The just-racked Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers was very promising but was temporarily knocked askew by recent sulfuring.) Here the nose is a mildly curious combination of intense and airy red berry fruits with obvious animale and lower register freshly turned earth notes that complement the delicious, round, intense and admirably precise flavors that possess good finishing depth and the finish has a trace of warmth to it. Both this and the Renardes are softer than usual and at least at this juncture appear that they will come around on the early side for a grand cru Corton. 2012+ Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2008)

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
