Lea & Sandeman review
Deep dark cool and classy with lots of volume. Rich and sweet - good structure which defines the fruit but is not obtrusive. Fairly massive for the vintage, with big cassis and vanillin oaky flavours, very fresh, with great purity and an attractive dry texture. Lovely balance and length. We did not see Marcel Ducasse this year, but this must be a wine which is spot on the style he would like to 92/100Other reviews and comments
The 2004 is developing a lovely ripe nose of wild strawberry, black cherry, redcurrant and a touch of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied, very well balanced with good delineation. It has some lovely ripe Cabernet, but maintaining that classic line of Saint Julien. Very harmonious with a delectable tobacco finish. Perhaps a little “conservative” but well crafted. Drink now-2016. Tasted September 2008.

Slightly pale rim. Correct, good balance. Rather simple, slightly raw Cabernet aromas. Sweet palate attack quickly followed by some pretty green tannins. Suffers from being not fully ripe. A bit simple and aggressive.

A silky and attractive red, with plum and berry character and hints of toasted oak and tobacco. Medium-bodied, with a solid core of fruit and silky tannins. Subtle and refined for the vintage. 26,110 cases made.
