Deeply aromatic. The palate is racy, juicy and fresh with bright crushed cherry fruit, firm but light tannins, a smooth talcy texture and a fine line of chalky minerality on the finish. Good+ to very good. From 2013/14
15.5 - 16

Sweetness and gentleness and life and conviction. Not for the first time in 2008. Chambolle convinces. 2012-2017

The palate is medium-bodied, firm tannins, dense black fruit, a touch of tobacco, leading to a dry, quite stalky finish. 2012-2017
84 - 86/100

Dark in colour, with a fine mulberry / loganberry / blackberry perfume, lovely dark berry fruit richness, spices and concentration, this is deliciously approachable Pinot Noir, yet with an unusually firm grip of tannin and fresh acidity; the mulberry fruit quality with its combination of freshness and backbone suggests that it will improve with a few years cellaring; smart for a village red.

Good deep red. Black fruits and flowers on the nose, perked up by pepper and spices. Supple, scented and sweet, with lovely definition to the raspberry and spice flavors. Suaver and suppler than the Gevrey or Nuits village wines. Finishes with firm tannins and lingering perfume.
87 - 90/100

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
