Deep colour, round texture, ripe and evolved, could do wth a racking to bring it together but there's no doubting the depth of flavour here.

Quite a subtle, floral aroma. Sweet and intense on the front of the palate; soft in the middle and then the tannins come in to make the balance. Grippy tannins. Generosity in the middle. Good++. From 2014

Deep ruby. Ripe blackberry, bitter chocolate, pepper and spices on the nose. Juicy, spicy and peppery on the palate
85 - 88/100

A deft touch of wood sets off the ripe, spicy and relatively elegant nose of both blue and black berry fruit that leads to textured, dense, mouth coating and suave flavors that possess a delicious and solidly persistent finish. The mouth feel is less elegant than the nose but this certainly doesn’t lack for character or personality. 2015+
87 - 89/100

Light crimson. Fresh and very fruity in strawberry mould. Really almost like rioja! Not quite enough purity for me but it will deliver pleasure to those who don’t mind that green streak. 2014-2017

Bright ruby colour, the Vosne Village has cranberry and wild strawberry on the nose that reminds me more of a Chambolle. The palate is tannic on the entry, a little stemmy but fine structure. Masculine with a firm backbone (especially for a Vosne), it has a stern, dry finish. The kind of Vosne that Hubert de Montille might make.

No apologies for choosing another Confuron-Cotetidot wine. This is sweet, seductive and slightly sappy with supple, easy-drinking fruit and the underlying structure to develop in bottle. 3-8 years.

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
