Light, firm nose, a whiff of the sea, salty oyster-shell stones. Enough volume to give a full, soft mouth feel and to partly cover the rapier-like acidity and mineral drive. Very pure. Minerals still popping away on the finish. Lovely pure length.

Expressive floral aroma. White flowers and a hint of spice. It dances onto the palate perfumed white rose petals. Elegant, svelte and threaded with slivers of silvery minerality. It has a lovely energy and balletic movement which carries to the finish. It is an intense, light and long wine with finesses. A delight. Fine++. From 2015

100% barrel fermented in one- to five-year-old oak. Tropical tones, pert citrus, slight bitterness works well in the mix. Has the requisite grand cru power. 2012-2016

Here too the wood is discreet but not invisible with spicy and fully exotic fruit aromas that telegraph the presence of plenty of minerality that appears on the rich, powerful and impressively concentrated flavors that ooze a mouth coating dry extract on the delicious, complex and energetic finish. This is solidly persistent but not quite as long as either the Les Clos or the Bougros. 2016+

Founded in Beaune in 1880, under the name Maison Joseph Drouhin, the domaine has been built up over the years with the addition of new parcels in the Burgundy region and now comprises 73 hectares of vineyards, more than 2/3 of which are classified as Premier and Grands Crus. It is one of the largest estates in the region, and is now also the largest estate in Chablis entirely given over to biodynamic cultivation. Since 2008, the name 'Vaudron' has been associated with all Joseph Drouhin wines from the Chablis region as a sign of the firm's "allegiance to the terroir" and homage to the Moulin de Vaudron, the home of Joseph Drouhin.
