2010 BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR Bourgogne Rouge Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot
| Grapes: Pinot Noir | Origin: France, Burgundy |
Lea & Sandeman review
Subtle change to the vinification in reds, with pigeage (punching down the cap) only up to half-way through the fermentation, to extract only fine skin-tannins. This is a lovely little wine - and not that little either, fat and almost oily-rich, but still bright and fine. Aged in old barrels to round it out even more.Other reviews and comments

2010 Burgundy
Few wine lovers can fail to have noticed the furore surrounding the 2010 Burgundy vintage - it's a well-worn epithet but 2010 was an excellent vintage and one that will find a space in most well-stocked cellars. Whilst most of the attention was lavished on wines for keeping, there are a few little gems that you can tuck into, more or less, straight away. Here's a fine selection to give you a feel for the vintage and, maybe, tempt you into squirreling some away for the future.
The WINE GANG Pinot Noir case
A selection of fabulous drinking Pinot Noirs as selected by the Wine Gang in their March report. "The Pinot Noirs, all young vintages, were from Burgundy, New Zealand and Argentina and the standard was high. We like the way Lea & Sandeman chooses producers and wines that express their vineyards and regions so clearly," they said, and we couldn't agree more! Taste your way through the selection and see what they mean...
