| Grapes: Kerner | Origin: Italy, Alto Adige |
Lea & Sandeman review
This indigenous grape variety from the Alto Adige give a delicious expression of white peaches, lime, white flowers and persistent minerality. Wonderful expression and energy makes it a lovely wine to drink with grilled fish and white meat dishes.Other reviews and comments
Yes thank you very much, this is EXACTLY the kind of luscious, ripe and flavoursome native white wine that makes Italy such an exciting country for wine right now, and gets my vote as an alternative but luscious white wine to sit back and savour at Christmas. Made from a hybrid of Riesling and the local red Alto Adige grape Schiava, this Kerner has bright, peachy, floral aromas with a hint of nuts keeping things savoury. On the palate it has oodles of apple freshness and zingy citrus flavours as well as a firm texture to give it some weight too. A real asset to Alto Adige’s white wine scene.
