Bright deep yellow-gold. Rich, with quite distinct oaky notes at this stage. Brightly airy mineral middle floats above the oak and body. True class. Very long. Superb stuff. L&S (Dec 2011)

Another striking wine, the 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère comes across as resonant and earthy. The sheer richness of the fruit is striking. Hints of anise, spices and mint emerge with time in the glass, adding complexity. This is, at times, a deceptively mid-weight Puligny, but it has enough stuffing to drink well for a number of years. Rating: 92 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2013)

Bright pale yellow. Soil-driven aromas of grapefruit, fresh dill and flinty minerality. Dense and brisk on entry, with outstanding grand cru intensity to the lemon and crushed stone flavors. Conveys a strong impression of silex. This boasts the sappiness of the best 2010s and finishes with outstanding stony, citric persistence. Like a slap in the face today, this wine demands at least several years of bottle aging, at which point it may merit an even higher score. Rating: 95(+?) Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
