Very much the influence of Puligny rather than Meursault. Very slidey and mineral. Great purity and depth and length. Classy.

They farm this and have had a partnership here for a long time, although not as long as with Laguiche. 8 barrels come from one woman and a little from some one else. There is a richness and intensity on the nose. Ripe on the attack. It straightens in and becomes focused and strict. Juicy and dense in the middle. I like the power and energy. There are intriguing floral notes entwined with the cool stone minerals and it finishes with minerality and fragrance. Fine+. From 2015/16

The first vineyard to be picked in 2011 and a wine that is typical of Meursault’s honeyed richness and spice, offset by cinnamon oak and taut, lemon rind freshness. 2014-20

Often the first grapes to be picked because in a clos, from same supplier for years. Layers and lively and rich. Exciting. Tight and mid density. Lemon cream with lime zest. Mid richness. Very pretty and well balanced but no contender for grand cru status. 2015-2021

Drouhin's 2011 Meursault Les Perrieres is laced with white stone fruits, pears, crushed rocks and slate, in a wiry, tense style for the year. The 2011 finishes with substantial energy and focus. This is one of the more cool, inward wines in the range. Accordingly, the Perrieres needs at least a few years in bottle to fully come together.

Despite the size of their vineyard holding, not all of Drouhin's wines come from their own domaine, but most of the other wines do come from long-term contracts, such as exists with the Marquis de Laguiche wines. In all but name these wines are 'Domaine' wines, and the vineyards are cared for and the wines vinified with exactly the same care.
