Like Dow, this has a broad and creamy texture expressive of lush blackberry fruit and dark mineral. Supple to begin, the tannins are there and intensify toward the finish, giving lift and depth to the now peppery fruit. Really rather gorgeous and long. Rating: 94 L&S (May 2013)

One of the best vintages for decades. Closed, dense with plenty of floral fruit underneath. Ripe, pure cherry-stone fruit palate, sweet and gentle, very beautiful at this stage, ripe tannic core extending through to the finish. Stunningly good. The nose has a heady floral quality a flower bed of violets and rockroses with hints of spice a touch of cedar wood. The palate has the richness of black cherry and blackcurrant sumptuous sensuous with there is enough freshness to balance and give great finesse.
