Pale pink rosé with saffrony gold highlights. The powerful, elegant nose combines white fruits and wild strawberry, alongside citrus zest with light cardamom notes. Soft, firm structure in the mouth, balanced by a crispness with fruity notes and a touch of grapefruit. The smooth, suave finish expresses the complexity of Clos Mireille, as well as its coastal location. Winemaker's notes (Oct 2014)

Tasted blind. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah. Ultra pale. Smells sweet, almost a touch honeyed but also pretty with blossom. Perhaps a touch of residual sugar to balance the intense freshness. Distinctive and interesting with a really creamy texture and great depth even though it is as much vinous as fruity. Domaine Ott
Marcel Ott, an Alsatian by birth, settled in Provence in the late 19th Century and founded the famous estate that bears his family name. The (in)famous bottle was created by René Ott in 1930 and, today, the estates are run by cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott although ownership passed to Louis Roederer in 2004. More, perhaps, than any other brand the pale delicate pink of Domaine Ott has come to define Provence rosé.
